2 Samuel 6
“The Ark”

David’s heart is to honor God and to centralize His worship throughout Israel. He is ready and excited about placing the Ark of the Lord within the context of Jerusalem, the capital of the nation. But he hits a snag. Uzzah reaches out to steady the Ark and dies. What does this mean? How does David respond? When the Ark reaches Jerusalem, why does Michal respond the way she does? The hope is to nail down the biggest questions: what does this passage say about God and His character and how it applies to us? As the Lord leads, read and study through 2 Samuel 6:1-23. The memory verse that corresponds with the Sunday School material is 2 Samuel 7:9, “And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you. And I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth.”
